illustrated throughout from photographs and paintings, some in color. Paper
just beginning to tan, otherwise clean. Bound in red and black pictorial
wrappers. 12" x 9". Laid in are four loose plates on magazine stock,
containing large photographs and biographical sketches of Alicia Markova,
Anton Dolin, Andre Eglevsky, and Lubov Tchernicheva. Very Good.

includes full-page photographs of choreographer Georges Balanchine and
dancers Alexandra Danilova, Lubov Tchernicheva, Leon Woizikowski, Vera
Petrova, Alicia Markova, and others, some in character. White stiff
wrappers with color-pictorial cover. 12.25" x 9.5" Very Good.
Seems to mark the end of the "Golden Age of the Ballets Russes,"
1909-1929.

Introduction to the Ballet Theatre" by Lucius Beebe, along with photographs
and biographical sketches of Michel Fokine, Bronislava Nijinska, Anton
Dolin, Agnes de Mille, Nana Gollner, Dimitri Romanoff, Nina Stroganova,
Mona Montes, Kurt Weill, and many others. Also contains synopses of 17
ballets, including "The Great American Goof" by William Saroyan. Bound in
pictorial stiff wrappers. 12.25" x 9". Laid in is a broadside (11.25" x 6")
"Special Announcement--The Red Poppy will be given in place of Etude,
Thursday, April 13," with a synopsis of that ballet and a list of
characters and dancers.  Very Good.

The Ballet Theatre, 1949. First Edition. (40)pp; illustrated throughout
from photographs and sketches in color. This program opens with a ten-year
summary of Ballet Theatre and an introduction by directors Lucia Chase and
Oliver Smith. Following are photographic portraits and performance candids
of Igor Youskevitch, Nora Kaye, Nana Gollner, Hugh Laing, John Kriza, Diana
Adams, Norma Vance, Jenny Workman, and others. The centerspread lists the
entire Ballet Theatre Company. Bound in wallet-style wrappers illustrated
in color by Marcel Vertes. 11.75" x 9" Very Good.
