THE MINERS' OWN BOOK, Containing Correct Illustrations and Descriptions of the Various Modes of California Mining, Including All the Improvements Introduced from the Earliest Days to the Present Time. San Francisco: Hutchings & Rosenfield. 1858. 8vo. 32pp. Profusely illustrated with woodcuts. Stabbed & tied at inner margin. Lacking the original outer wrappers. Housed in a folder with a morocco spine label. Text with some old soiling, with a light stain at the outer margin.    $2,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
Some of the illustrations are by Charles Nahl. This copy is the issue with the inverted woodcut on p. 23, which Howes calls  "the first issue." Note: although lacking the original outer wrappers, many of the copies now in a binding (i.e., "later half calf") lack the printed wrappers as well.
