AND DETECTIVE SOCIETY OF FRANKLIN PARK HAVING LEARNED THAT A NUMBER OF ITS
MEMBERS HAVE SUFFERED LOSS BY THEFT OF THEIR POULTRY, and

Whereas, It is the purpose of the society to protect its members from loss
and if there be a loss to do all in its power to punish the offender or
offenders.

Therefore be it Resolved, That we offer a reward of $100.00 ($50.00 by the
Aid and Detective Society of Franklin Park and $50.00 by the Consolidated
Society of New Jersey and Pennsylvania) for the arrest and conviction of
the thief or thieves.  Franklin Park, NJ: s.n., circa 1915?.  Printed in
black on stiff tan stock, 14" x 11".  Lists names of the 37 members of the
Society.  Signed in type by T.E. Gibson, President, and J.G. Cortelyou,
Secretary.  Very Good condition.

This NJ Society, organized in 1878 as an unpaid group of vigilantes, chased
and caught thieves and turned them over to a judge for trial.  When the
Franklin Township Police Department was set up in 1940, the Aid and
Detective Society was dissolved.  $100.00
