By J. Stokes. Published in Philadelphia by Henry Carey Baird in 1909.

A later edition of one of the most popular and comprehensive 19th 
century cabinetmaking and upholstering books. First published in 1829, 
and first printed in America in 1850, it included extensive information 
on the geometry and perspective of cabinetry, as well as technical 
information about veneering, inlaying, staining, lacquering, japanning, 
varnishing, glues and cements, etc.

Hardcover. 5"x8", 190 pages plus 32 pages of other Baird titles and 5 
black & white plates. Publisher's embossed brown cloth with gilt title. 
The covers have some light wear and soil. The book interior has some 
minor soil, but otherwise is clean and nice, with a tight binding. $50

Books may be reserved pending payment; Institutions may be billed; 
Standard courtesies to institutions and the trade; Postage charges are 
$5.00 for the first book, and $2.00 for each additional book. Shipments 
outside the U.S. will be billed at cost. We accept returns if we are 
notified within ten days of your receipt of the books-please ask for 
full instructions and terms. Massachusetts residents must add 6.25% 
state sales tax.
