Indian Territory. ARCHIVE OF SEVENTEEN (17) DOCUMENTS, BEING HOMESTEAD
ALLOTMENTS FOR ONE CHEROKEE FAMILY, 1900-1910, AND A PHOTO-PORTRAIT OF THE
FAMILY. Included are: Certificates of Allotment, Homestead Deeds, and
Allotment Deeds granting land to three members of the Lowe family--James,
Rosa, and May. A later (1915) Warranty Deed mentions one Zelma Lowe. Most
of the documents are legal size and dated 1905-1907, before Oklahoma became
a state. At that time, the land comprised territorial counties and
Muskogee Indian Territory. Several documents are clerk-signed for James
Rudolph Garfield, Secretary of the Interior In Theodore Roosevelt's
administration, and son of the assassinated 20th US President. Other
documents are signed by Tams Bixby, Commissioner to the Five Civilized
Tribes. The photograph of James and Rosa Lowe and their daughter was taken
at Bee House (Coryell County). Texas. Very Good condition. $850.00
