Edinburgh: Printed for Constable and Co., 1827. (Volume V of Constable's Miscellany.) First edition or first thus, 12mo (16 cm), in original publisher's pale green polished buckram with printed spine label; xi + 353 pp.; engraved frontispiece and extra engraved title-page; with the half-title and publisher's advertisement slip bound in.

Includes "Narrative of the shipwreck of the Antelope in August 1783; with an account of the Pelew Islands to the present time"; "Mutiny of  the Bounty, with consequences arising from it; Bligh's voyage through the Pacific in an open boat; Voyage and shipwreck of the Pandora; Settlement and present state of Pitcairn's Island"; and "Particulars of the destruction of a British vessel [the Boyd, Captain Thompson] on the Coast of New Zealand; with anecdotes of some New Zealand Chiefs." Binding with some spotting and sunning, bumps to the extremities; contents very good or better: light toning and dust-soiling to the untrimmed edges of the text block, else clean, firmly bound.
