Leon de Laborde: Journey through Arabia Petræa, to Mount Sinai, and the Excavated City of Petra, the Edom of the Prophecies. London: John Murray, 1836. First edition in English; 8vo, original publisher's lavender cloth, title in gilt to the spine; xxviii, 331, [1], 8, 4 pp.; folding map, 64 tissue-guarded plates and in-text illustrations (complete as per list); publisher's catalogues bound in at the rear.

A very good copy of the first English translation of De Laborde's Journey, containing two additional chapters not found in the French edition first published in 1830. Some spotting to the frontispiece and the fore-edges of the text block, a few scattered small spots elsewhere,  otherwise quite clean and fresh, firmly and expertly recased in the original binding which shows sunning to the spine and edges. Now protected in a clear mylar dust-jacket.
