Low, Haskell & Co. "THE INVENTOR," Vol. I, Nos. 7-9, March-May, 1856.
New-York: Low, Haskell & Co., 1856.   First Editions.  Three issues of this
scarce periodical, 32pp per issue.  Woodcut illustrations in text and
inside back covers.  Bound in printed wrappers.  Old, faint stains, not
obtrusive. 10" x 6.5".

Each issue contains about a dozen articles on new inventions, plus reports
on patents and claims, &c. Some of the articles in these issues are:
Newbery's Magazine Pistol; Improvement in Ship Building; Paige's Adjustable
Car Brake Blocks; Iron Pavement; A Story-and-a-half Cottage; Loveless'
Patent Cooking Stove; A Monster Gun; Cadwell's Patent Dead-eye; Steam Power
on Wheels; Nowlan's Patent Domestic Mangles; Cotton Superseded by Silk;
Tennessee Railways; Barkley's Improved Fountain Lamp; Boardman's Coal
Burner; &c., &c.  Laid into the May, 1856 issue is a 9.75" x 7.75"
broadside, American and European Office for Patents, 304 Broadway...,
advertising to represent inventors and others who wish to apply for
patents. Very Good condition.

[Unrecorded by WorldCat, although the Hagley Museum Library has bound
volumes I and II, 1855-1857.]  $120.00
