A Fine copy of the first edition, first printing thus of The Sonnets by William Shakespeare Published in 1975 by Maitland & Thorold at the Sign of the Swallow Press 13-14 Dean Street London W1 with an Introduction by the renowned British Poet Robert Graves. The Volume was designed by Edward Burrett.

Only Three Hundred copies of this Limited Edition were published, and, of that Three Hundred, only Forty copies are accompanied by an Original Drawing by Clarke Hutton. Of these Forty, Eight were reserved for the Publisher, leaving only Thirty-Two of the copies accompanied by the Hutton Drawing available to the public. This is copy Twenty of those Thirty-Two and is complete with the Hutton Drawing -- which itself illustrates Sonnet 82.

Each of the Volume of Sonnets and the accompanying Drawing is protected by its own slipcase.

The Volume is The Sonnets is SIGNED BY ROBERT GRAVES, EDWARD BURRETT, and CLARKE HUTTON on the Limitation Page, and, as noted above, the Drawing has been signed by the Artist.

Each of the Volume and the Drawing is in Fine condition and has been well-protected by its case. The cases, of course, show some general rubbing.

A wonderful presentation of the great William Shakespeare's Sonnets, SIGNED BY ROBERT GRAVES, EDWARD BURRETT, and CLARKE HUTTON.
