Alexander Pope: The Works of Mr. Alexander Pope. London: Printed by W. Bowyer, for Bernard Lintot between the Temple-Gates, 1717. Folio (29.5 cm) in early/period Cambridge style paneled calf, spine in compartments with gilt-tooled lyres, gilt-lettered morocco spine label; endpapers renewed; [30] + 408 pp. Griffith 82; ESTC T5388.

Bound without the frontispiece, intermittent browning and spotting to the leaves; binding with rubbing and a few small scratches, bumping and wear to the corners and spine ends, cracking to the joints but both boards are secure. One of several editions with the same title printed by Bowyer in 1717, this apparently being the "ordinary paper" issue. The poems and essays include The Rape of the Lock, Essay on Criticism, The Temple of Fame, Windsor-Forest, Pastorals, Translations, and Miscellanies, and are preceded by poetical tributes to Pope by William Wycherley, Thomas Parnell, Francis Knapp, and others.
