William Robertson: The History of America. London: Printed for A. Strahan [etc.], 1788. Two volumes only (of three). Fifth edition; 8vo (21.5 cm) in early/period calf; 4 folding engraved maps by Thomas Kitchin and one folding plate.

Lacking vol. III, but complete as per maps and plates for the entire set (the third volume contained none). The maps consist of: the Gulf of Mexico, the Islands and Countries adjacent (includes Florida); South America; Mexico or New Spain (includes California and present-day Texas); the Countries on the South Sea, from Panama to Guayaquil. Bindings are rough: well-worn and rubbed, joints cracked with two boards loosening but still attached; front inner joints cracked, text with occasional small spots and touches of soiling. The maps have some creases from mis-folding, some light toning and offsetting, a few short, closed edge-tears, but overall in very good condition.
