First edition; two volumes, 4to (31.5 cm), in period diced calf, marbled endpapers and page edges; engraved portrait frontispiece.

Front boards detached, spine leather mostly gone; modest general toning and offsetting to the contents, occasional browning and spotting (more noticeable in the second volume); from the library of the Earl Cornwallis, with his engraved armorial bookplates on the front paste-downs. A handsomely printed work.
