[Charles Piggot:] The Female Jockey Club, or A Sketch of the Manners of the Age. [London:] Printed for D. I. Eaton, 1794. Seventh edition (printed the same year as the first), “with Corrections and material Additions.” [BOUND WITH:] [Anonymous:] City Biography, Containing Anecdotes and Memoirs of the Rise, Progress, Situation, & Character, of the Aldermen and other Conspicuous Personages of the Corporation and City of London... Second edition, corrected, and considerably enlarged. London: Printed for the Author, by J. W. Myers, No. 2, Paternoster-Row; and sold by J. Parsons, No. 21, Paternoster-Row, 1800. Two works bound in one volume; 8vo (20.5 cm) in early/period half calf and marbled boards, gilt-lettered morocco spine labels; xxxvii, [2], 200 pp.; vi, [1], 10, 195 pp. ESTC T76058; T56054.

Two radical, satirical collections of mostly unflattering biographical sketches. The first work is especially savage (and funny) in its attacks on the aristocracy, King George III, the Prince Regent, William Pitt, etc. Binding a bit rubbed, with modest wear to the edges and extremities; contents with occasional light spotting, the first work with small holes near the gutter from its original stitched binding, else both works very clean and sound, firmly bound. The second work is bound without the frontispiece sometimes found.
