Text with 32 woodcut portraits, one larger one and 31 smaller (approx. 2" x 2") of legal scholars. Large & small woodcut initials. Cont. vellum, with morocco spine label, label lightly chipped. Vellum with some soiling and discoloration. Overall a very nice copy with the elaborate engraved bookplate, dated 1771, of Jacobus Maximilianus, Count of the Holy Roman Empire, engraved by Italian engraver Teodoro Viero.    $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
A handbook on criminal law (Roman law) with contributions by many contemporary legal scholars, edited and compiled by Ziletti. Not in Adams. BL Italian STC (Supplement) p. 83. The first printing under this title is 1556, the second printing is 1563, with the editor's further revisions. Later editions appeared in 1570 and 1580.
