Horton, Lucy Henderson. SOME SOLDIERS OF THE [FIRST] WORLD WAR,
DESCENDANTS OF HEROES OF FORMER WARS. Compiled by Lucy Henderson Horton,
Tennessee State Historian, US Daughters of 1812: from 1915 to 1922
[manuscript]. Quarto (13.5" x 9"). Comprises 160 handwritten pages and 37
typewritten pages, bound tablet style into red cloth covers with a
handwritten label which is chipped. The text is mostly on rectos of the
leaves, with occasional overlap to versos. The intent is to connect
soldiers of World War I with their colonial ancestors. Very Good condition.

"*Summary*: 103 soldiers of World War with line of descent established
from soldiers of the American Revolution. 147 soldiers of World War with
line of descent established from soldiers of War of 1812. 30 sketches of
World War soldiers some of whose ancestral lines are traced through
Colonial times. 25 sketches of soldiers of 1812. 15 sketches of men and
women who did World War Relief work. 7 sketches of soldiers not generally
known of the American Revolution. 5 sketches of Confederate ancestors of
World War soldiers. Certified Roster of all enlisted men of Williamson
County, Tennessee who served in World War, including Battery 7.114 Field
Artillery which included some men from other counties. Later, 2 additional
soldiers of World War with line of descent established from soldiers of the
American Revolution and from soldiers of War of 1812."

[The roster of "Williamson County men who served in Army, Navy and Marine
Corps during the War with Germany" was compiled by Dr. K.S. Howlett of the
Franklin Red Cross. That long list is alphabetical, with "Colored"
soldiers grouped separately under each letter of the alphabet. The many
handwritten "sketches" of soldiers are rather detailed, providing much
information not otherwise available. This title is unrecorded by OCLC.
The author also wrote several family histories.] $450.00

Usual trade terms. Postpaid in US.
