WARD, Lynd. FAUST Portfolio title: This Portfolio contains a set of 
prints (one of forty-four sets) from six wood blocks engraved by Lynd 
Ward to illustrate Alice Raphael's translation of FAUST and proofed by 
him in December 1930. n.p., (1930). First Edition. Quarto portfolio 
(8-1/4" x 12-1/4") consisting of 6 SIGNED wood block prints housed in a 
decorated boards portfolio with a printed gold lable on the front. Copy 
#39 of only 44 with each 5-1/2" x 8" print numbered and SIGNED by the 
artist and mounted on a larger paper. Obviously quite scarce. The tie on 
the portfolio is lacking. The prints are Fine with one or two of the 
mats creased at the corners. Overall about Fine. (#018669)        $3,500.00
