ROOSEVELT, Franklin Delano. INAUGURAL ADDRESSES OF FRANKLIN D. 
ROOSEVELT, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Washington: The White House 
(Government Printing Office), Christmas 1943. First Edition. Small slim 
quarto (7" x 10") bound in parchment-backed marbled boards, gilt-stamped 
black leather title label to spine, top edge gilt; vignette on title 
partly printed in red and blue, initials printed in red; 24, [1] pages. 
Copy #21 of only 100, this a Presentation copy INSCRIBED and SIGNED by 
the President on the front endpaper: "For Harry H. Woodring/with a Happy 
Christmas from/Franklin D. Roosevelt/1943." Laid in is a portion of the 
address label from the White House to Woodring. Fine in a Fine slipcase.

Harry Hines Woodring (1887-1967) served as Governor of Kansas from 1931 
to 1933 at which point he was appointed Assistant Secretary of War under 
Franklin D. Roosevelt. In 1936 he was promoted to Secretary of War by 
Roosevelt, serving until 1940. (#018967)        $15,000.00
