Large copper engraved plate on title and text with about a dozen copper engravings. Cont. calf, nicely rebacked with old red morocco label on spine.    $850.00 (trade discount allowed)
The third edition. A valuable text for knowledge of ancient Britain. It contains one of the first Anglo-Saxon dictionaries (pp. 207-239). The first edition of 1605 is cited as containing the first printing in English of "The Story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin" (found in all editions). STC 21363 (under "Rowlands").
