MENCKEN, H. L. SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH. . Superb 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" photographic 
portrait of a stern-looking, just short of a smile Mencken INSCRIBED by 
him "Jack [?],/with best regards" and SIGNED in 1937. The photograph is 
not credited but is likely by Pinchot as we have seen one other similar 
image that was not signed. Mencken is scarce in signed photographs. 
Small smudge away from Mencken and his inscription and apparently part 
of the image. Few pencil notes on verso. Striking portrait of the master 
satirist and crusading journalist in Fine condition. (#010006) $3,000.00
