The catalog to an important loan exhibition of Dutch maritime Art of the
Golden Age which drew art from many collections in Germany and the
Netherlands, as well as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, England, Russia,
Sweden, the United States and the Bahamas. In addition to the scholarly
catalog of art works, biographies of artists, and a glossary of 17th
century Dutch ships, there are several essays: Maritime History in
Paintings, Seascapes as Historical Sources, by Remmelt Daalder - What
One Can do with a Pen, Pen Paintings of Maritime Scenes, by Friso
Lammertse - Seascape as History and Metaphor, by Lawrence O. Goedde.
Softcover. 9.5"x11.5", 471 pages, color and black & white illustrations.
The covers have some light wear and soil and the corners are thumbed.
The book interior has some minor soil, but otherwise is clean and nice,
with a tight binding.

Standard courtesies to institutions and the trade; Postage charges are
$5.00 for the first book, and $2.00 for each additional book. Shipments
outside the U.S. will be billed at cost. We accept returns if we are
notified within ten days of your receipt of the books-please ask for
full instructions and terms. Massachusetts residents must add 6.25%
state sales tax.
