[Maria Edgeworth:] Tales of Fashionable Life, by Miss Edgeworth, Author of Practical Education, Belinda, Castle Rackrent, Essay on Irish Bulls, &c. London: Printed for J. Johnson, 1809. FIRST EDITION. Three volumes, 8vo (18 cm), in early/period full polished calf. Half-title in vol. II. Wolff 1996; Sadleir 786.

Spines rubbed, cracked and chipped with loss; two leaves detached but present (one with wear and soiling to the edges); two leaves with tears, one affecting some words of the text; contents with mild toning, occasional stains and small spots. Armorial bookplates of Charles Stirling. Contains Edgeworth's long stories: Ennui, Almeria, Madame de Fleury, The Dun, and Manoeuvring. An additional two volumes of her "tales" were published in 1812.
