Original red paper covered boards (cartonnage rouge). Black morocco spine label. Hinges a bit rubbed, and occasional light foxing, but a beautiful copy.    $6,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
This is the first issue with the 1814 title; the second has an 1815 dated title. An important study of ancient Greek sculpture, specifically those idols composed of or adorned with gold & ivory, 500-430 B.C. A magnificent work printed in an edition of only 160 copies (150 on paper and 10 on vellum).
