A classic Victorian travel guide, actually an early "survivalist's" guide, with info. on starting a fire, building a shelter, etc., etc.  The 8th (& last) edition appeared in 1893. Galton (1822-1911) pioneered the field of eugenics, and devised the method for classifying fingerprints.
