2) July, 1900 British Travel Brochure for the Passion Play at 
Oberammergau.  Issued by Henry Gaze & Son Ltd. of London in July, 1900. 
Henry Gaze & Sons, of the Strand, London, would not only book you a seat 
for one of the July, August, or September, 1900 performances of the 
Passion Play at Oberammergau, they could send you on a complete tour of 
the surrounding cities and countryside before and after the 
performances, and it was all described and priced in this attractive 
booklet. Softcover. 6"x4.75", 30 pages, black & white illustrations, 
plus 1-page reservation form. Covers with light wear and minor soil, 
slight edge chipping, fold. $20

3) 19th Century Hotel Washington, Pisa, Italy Folding Card.  An 
interesting English/French folding card for the Hotel Washington in 
Pisa, Italy, featuring a pen and ink drawing of the unhappiest George 
Washington you’re ever likely to see. The hotel was quite the place 
though, they had a restaurant, a “large garden”, moderate charges, and 
“electric light and heating in every room”. The card unfolds to reveal a 
street map of downtown Pisa. Folding card. 5.25”x3.5”. Some soil and 
wear. $25

4) 1902 Amsterdam Holland Bible Hotel Illustrated Trade Card.  A very 
handsomely printed card for an aptly-named hotel. The hotel featured 
electric lights, an elevator, baths, and a room with a candle and an 
attendant could be had for only 2 florins. The attendant presumably lit 
the candle. 5.5”x3.5”. Minor soil, light wear. $25

5) 1920s Cannes France Pyjama-Playground Promotional Card.  An 
interesting promotional card for the Pyjama-Playground at Cannes, 
France, featuring a rather defiant young Frenchman on the front and 
three more images of the goings on at this popular beach resort on the 
back. The activities appear to have included boys boxing, kids kayaking, 
and a full-grown man sitting on an enormous beach ball waving a 
sombrero. Good times. 2.75”x4.25”. Minor soil. $25

6) 1930s Miami Beach Art Deco Anglers Hotel Handbill.  An attractive 
handbill for the Anglers Hotel from Miami Beach’s classic Art Deco 
architectural era.  Handbill. 5.5”x8.5”. Minor wear, light soil. $20

7) 1950s French Par Avion Tahiti Promotional Air Mail Envelope.  An 
attractive unused French Air Mail envelope promoting Tahiti, with a trio 
of islanders hurling spears on the beach, which is not at all 
Colonialist…  Envelope. 6.25”x4.5”. Minor soil, light wear. $25

8)  1940s Mustapha Superieur Hotel Algieres North Africa Label.  A 
dramatic label, possibly for luggage, featuring an elephant, from the 
French Occupation period. Label. 4.5”x3.25”. Minor soil. $25

comprehensive price guide to student travels on airlines, trains, and
