Civil War Soldier Cabinet Card and his 1897 Memorial Card, Gravestone
Photo & Eulogy.

As a handwritten note explains- W.G. Cook was born in Ohio in 1843 and
moved to Indiana in 1848. He enlisted in the 40th Indiana Volunteer
Infantry in 1861, took part in several battles, including Shiloh, and
was wounded at Stone Ridge. Mustered out, he became a railroad agent and
noted citizen, dying in 1897. This lot includes 2 Cabinet cards of Cook
in his Civil War uniform, his Memorial card, a photo of his tombstone,
and a handwritten 3-page eulogy by a friend, which suggests that he
never fully healed from his wound. There is also an undated piece of
paper giving his biographical details.

5 pieces. Minor soil, light wear. $125
