Along with biographies of a number of prominent dukes and earls and other British notables, the work contains a lengthy appreciation of Benjamin Franklin, "founder of American Greatness." Bindings with modest bumping and wear to the extremities, a few (old) professional repairs to the leather; one joint cracked and loose, but holding; contents with occasional light scattered spotting and stains, but generally quite clean and fresh.
