[Sir Philip Francis (attributed to):] Junius. Stat Nominis Unbra. A new edition. London: Printed for Vernor, Hood, and Sharpe [et al]: 1810. Early/period full forest green straight-grained morocco with gilt-tooled decorations and lettering, all page edges gilt; 8vo (21 cm); 380 pp., with 12 engraved portraits.

FORE-EDGE PAINTING of, apparently, the Houses of Parliament, a fitting subject for this famous collection of eighteenth-century political letters. In addition, an original watercolor drawing of flowers has been neatly cut out and pasted onto the the inner front cover. Binding with some rubbing and scuffing, wear to the extremities, darkening to the spine, front joint/hinge cracked and loosened, but holding; some spotting to the plates and adjacent text leaves. Front free-endpaper with the bookplate of Louise G. Emmet.
