O'CASEY, Sean. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS). Torquay, Devon, 26 January 
1955. A one-page AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS) on a 7-3/4" x 9-1/2" blue 
aerogramme to Evalyn Barrett. In full: "Hurrah! That's what we all need, 
what we all should strive for -- courage to face what may be before us. 
A cardinal virtue. It doesn't mean that we shall be free from fear: it 
means that we shall over come fear, and go on bravely. I have, indeed, 
been afraid; often trembled with anxiety, but have usually shoved fear 
aside -- get thee behind me, Satan! and have gone on to meet whatever 
came to face me." Simply matted and framed with a cutout on the reverse 
to show the address in O'Casey's hand with his surname in the return 
address field. Crease from mailing. Not examined out of frame but
