The Violin and The Truth. The only existing scientific explanation of
The Lost Art.

By Julius D.Horvath. Published by the author in 1911.

Julius Horvath sold antique violins, restored violins, and crafted new
violins in Manhattan, and in this booklet he describes how he has
re-discovered the lost art of the Stradivarius violin in tones that make
you think he is revealing a Lost Secret of Life. According to the author
the secret lay not in the varnish nor the wood, but in a technique he
re-invented of filling or “Systemizing” the wood to make it uniform, and
using this technique he introduced his line of Philamona violins in
1908. Horvath evidently didn’t sell very many copies of this little
volume because it is surprisingly scarce, with only 4 OCLC locations and
no copies anywhere online when we catalogued this.

Softcover. 4.75”x6.5”, 51 pages, several black & white illustrations.
Some cover soil, rear cover with creases, minor internal soil and light
wear. [48908] $60
