with numerous additions and deletions throughout: 4-1/2 pages written on 
the rectos of separate 8" x 11" sheets. This essay, likely published in 
his "Books in General" column in the NEW STATESMAN, is a review of 
Richard D. Altick's VICTORIAN STUDIES IN SCARLET, 1970. Small staple 
holes at upper left along with a faint paperclip impression. Fine.
