“Manuel Generale de la Peinture a l'Huile”

Published in Paris by Le Bailly, Libraire-Editeur: no date, but 1884.

An all-inclusive artist's guide by the famous French art dealer Adolphe
Goupil, including setting up a studio, working with colors, subject

Adolphe Goupil (1806-1893) was one of the greatest art dealers and art
publishers of the nineteenth century. There were few facets of the arts
Goupil did not have a hand in, from publishing fine art prints, catalogs
and books, to operating galleries selling fine art in Europe, England
and America. Vincent and Theodore van Gogh were once employees, and
Adolphe Goupil's daughter married the artist Jean-Léon Gérôme.

Softcover. 5.5"x9", 144 pages. The covers and spine have some light wear
and soil (please see the photos, above and below). The book interior has
some minor soil, and some scattered foxing. $45
