SNYDER, Gary and GUTETSU, Kanetsuki. THE WOODEN FISH: BASIC SUTRAS &
GATHAS OF RINZAI ZEN. [First Zen Institute of America], 1961. First
Edition. Published by the First Zen Institute of America in Japan and
bound in the original string-tied brown wraps with a white decorative
woodblock label printed in red on the front cover. A very scarce Snyder
production, one of only 500 copies printed in Japan. Attractively SIGNED
by him on the title page. Errata slip tipped in at rear. Several minor
ink corrections in text in an unknown hand, likely done at time of
publication or distribution. The rear pastedown has detached from the
back cover, not a serious defect given the nature of the binding, and it
could easily pass as a rear blank if one were not familiar with the
binding.Near Fine with minor wrinkling. Fragile and scarce item,
especially when signed. (#011580)        $3,500
