Two 1870s United States Wool Hat Finishers’ Association Membership 
Cards.

A card and folding sheet of paper issued by the United States Wool Hat 
Finishers’ Association to their members, each with pencil notes 
regarding the payment of dues. The Association was formed on April 7, 
1869, and these cards contains dates from the 1870s. Both feature the 
handsome Association logo, featuring the interior of a hat-finishing 
shop, with a workman shaking hands with his employer, and the motto: 
“United We Stand. The Interests of Employer & Journeymen Are 
Inseparable”.

Two cards. 5.5”x3” and 5.25”x6”. Some soil and light wear, fold. [49485]

All payments must be in U.S. funds and negotiable through a U.S. bank; 
We accept checks, money orders, American Express, Visa and Mastercard. 
Books may be reserved pending payment; Institutions may be billed; 
Standard courtesies to institutions and the trade; Postage charges are 
$5.00 for the first book, and $2.00 for each additional book. Shipments 
outside the U.S. will be billed at cost. We accept returns if we are 
notified within ten days of your receipt of the books-please ask for 
full instructions and terms. Massachusetts residents must add 6.25% 
state sales tax.
