Madrid: La Viuda de Ibarra. 1799. Tall 4to. A special large paper copy. (4),144pp. Ibarra printer's device on title. Bound in original full mottled polished calf, gilt stamped spine and border of both covers. Marbled endpapers. With the bookplate of Bryan Stillwell. A fine copy.    $650.00 (trade discount allowed)
The transactions from July 13, 1796 to July 13, 1799, of the Royal Academy in Madrid, and the various prizes awarded to teachers in painting, sculpture and architecture. Beautifully printed on a thick paper by the widow of Joaquin Ibarra who continued printing after the death of her husband in 1785. This is a very uncommon "large paper" copy, 30.25cm. compared to a regular copy at 25cm. or 26cm. Lasalla #1074.
