[Rarebooks] FS: SIGNED Photograph of Helen Keller in Japan

KELLER, Helen. SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH. A lovely 8" x 10" photograph of Keller 
seated next to a small table holding a large vase with flowers, Keller's 
right hand reaching up and touching the flowers. INSCRIBED and SIGNED by 
Keller in her typical pencil on the rear of the photograph: "To 
Lane/with affectionate greetings/Helen Keller/September 19th 1948." The 
photograph is also SIGNED and INSCRIBED on the front but that 
inscription is on a dark portion and is barely visible. There is also an 
8" x 5-1/2" photograph, not signed but noted on the verso as being in 
Fukuoko, depicting Keller, in the same dress as the other photograph, 
walking through the streets of the Japanese city lined with people with 
her companion Polly Thomson and others. This was the second of three 
trips Keller made to Japan, a country she loved. These photographs come 
from the estate of Lane Carlson, Keller's guide in Japan and a colonel 
in the WAC Army who worked under General McArthur. She can be seen in
