Orig. mottled calf, nicely rebacked to style, old spine label laid down. With the cont. rubber stamp and signature of "Dr. R. Fuller."    $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
First edition of the first important American textbook of ophthalmology. Frick (1793-1870) a Baltimore physician was also the first American M.D. to restrict his practice to Ophthalmology. He was a student of the great German ophthalmologist Georg Joseph Beer (d. 1821). See GM 5844. THE BECKER COLLECTION OF OPHTHALMOLOGY only records the London 1826 edition (#142).
