First Edition. Printed wraps. A complete run of this scarce illustrated
bilingual avant garde publication. SIGNED by Randall on the front
endpaper of the first volume. Contributors include Allen Ginsberg,
Robert Creeley, Charles Bukowski, Herman Hesse, Pablo Neruda, Octavio
Paz, William Carlos Williams, R. Bukminster Fuller, Diane Wakoski,
Robert Kelly (complete issue 8), Augusti Bartra (complete issue 4), Paul
Blackburn, Fielding Dawson, Edward Dorn, Larry Eigner, George Bowering
(complete issue 16), Jerome Rothenberg, Anselm Hollo, Lawrence
Ferlinghetti, Denise Levertov, Clayton Eshleman, Carl Solomon, and many
others. Very Good to Near Fine and difficult to assemble a complete
collection.
Margaret Randall moved from the United States to Mexico in the 1960s and
married the Mexican poet Sergio Mondragón, with whom she edited the
journal EL CORNO EMPLUMADO. She involuntarily gave up her American
citizenship and eventually lived in Cuba, Nicaragua, and spent time in
North Vietnam during the last months of the U.S. war in that country.
Sergio Mondragón is considered the most notable representative of the
