TWAIN, Mark [CLEMENS, Samuel]. "About Barbers" in THE GALAXY, August,
1871. New York: Sheldon & Company, August, 1871. First Edition. Original
printed wraps; Volume 12, #2. Twain had many appearances in this
magazine from 1868 to 1871. This was his last. He begins the two-page
piece: "All things change except barbers, the ways of barbers, and the
surroundings of barbers." Other contributors include Henry James.
Articles include "Signature-Hunting" by Fanny Barrow and tenement life
in New York by Edward Crapsey. Illustrated with a portrait of John
Stuart Mill. Some foxing and staining. Near Fine and uncommon as an
