Edition, royal octavo (7-3/4" x 11-1/4") bound in vellum-backed marbled 
boards and printed dustwrapper. Illustrated with 41 wood-engravings, 
including the frontispiece, by Vivien Gribble and a folding map at the 
end. One of 325 copies on Large Paper SIGNED by the author. The text is 
from the Wessex Edition incorporating Hardy's revisions. A crisp, bright 
copy, largely unopened and unread. The only defect to the book is a 
thumbnail size scrape at the heel of the spine with loss of vellum 
affecting two letters of the publisher's name. Near Fine in a Very Good
