1. (HEMINGWAY, Ernest; JOYCE, James; POUND, Ezra; WILLIAMS, William
Carlos; et. al.) . THIS QUARTER, Volume 1, No. 2. Milan: Covegno: Via
Borgospesso, (1925). First Edition. Original printed wraps; 347 pages.
Illustrated with photograph reproductions of several contributors
including Joyce and Hemingway. Includes first printings of the
following: 2 Cantos by Pound; the story “The Undefeated” by Hemingway;
“Extract from Work in Progress” (Shem the Penman Episode from FINNEGANS
WAKE) by Joyce; an essay "Jacataqua" by Williams; as well as
contributions by Williams, Carl Sandburg, Kay Boyle, Sylvia Beach, Djuna
Barnes, and more. Perhaps the most important issue of this short-lived
periodical edited by expatriate American poet Ernest Walsh (who would
die of tuberculosis at 31 shortly after publication of this issue) and
Ethel Moorhead, a suffragette who provided financial backing. Aging to
text, as usual; pages mostly unopened; minor chipping to covers. Very
Good and quite uncommon, especially in individual wraps. (#020780)

pages 551-774 plus ads. The Spring issue of this famous literary
magazine published and edited by Edward W. Titus. Mostly unopened, text
clean and fresh; split along front cover where it attaches to text block
but presents well. Uncommon issue in Near Fine condition. (#020782)
