Greetings to All.

The below items are available at substantially reduced prices today
(Sunday) and tomorrow (Monday) subject to the terms set forth below:

Highsmith, Patricia
Girl Campers: Woman's World for 1935 [Rare set of entire year] [Patricia
Highsmith's Debut Appearance in Print.] (Note:Highsmith also wrote many
other works, none of which are offered here, such as: "Strangers on a
Train", "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and the other Tom Ripley novels, and many
other works)

Mount Morris, Illinois: Woman's World Publishing Co., 1935. First Edition,
First Printing. Illustrated Wrappers. A COMPLETE SET of 12 monthly issues
(in the original wrappers) of Woman's World magazine for the year 1935 --
containing all 12 issues -- each of which was sent to the same subscriber
(whose name and address are stamped on each issue). With the exception of
the issue for December, 1935 (which has a small section of loss to the
bottom outer corner of the cover and of the first three leaves) the set is
otherwise in Very Good + or better condition and being (with the exception
of some scattered spotting/foxing) rather bright and tight. "Woman's World"
focused on matters of interest to women living in the era in which it was
published. However, 1935 was an exceptional year in that it includes the
July, 1935 issue which contains the DEBUT APPEARANCE IN PRINT of a work by
Patricia Highsmith, being the text of a series of letters the then
twelve-year-old Highsmith wrote home during her stay at a girl's camp,
which letters she signed "Patsy". Among other things, the letters, each of
which is addressed to "Dear Mother and Dad", mention her particular liking
of a girl who rode with her on a boat trip up to the camp, a girl named
Marie who "eats like a pig at the table", her gratitude to her parents for
the two dollars they sent to her, her meeting the daughter of a girl whose
father is a publisher, and going swimming "Diana" with the other girls and
the camp counselor "Miss Brownie", adding in a P.S. that: "Diana means
without any clothes on at all. Do you think it's all right to go in Diana?
It's very dark." A Very Good+ or better set of all the monthly Woman's
World magazines for the year 1935, each of which was sent to the same
subscriber (and which set has been kept together since December, 1935),
BEING PATRICIA HIGHSMITH'S DEBUT APPEARANCE IN PRINT. A SCARCE OR EVEN
RARER FIND. Very good +. Item #3004
