[Claude Joseph Dorat:] Mes Fantaisies. Troisieme edition. Considerablement augmente. La Haye, et se trouve a Paris: Delalain, 1770. Octavo (18.5 cm) in early/period mottled calf with gilt-tooled borders and spine decorations, marbled endpapers, all page edges gilt; 363, [1] pp.; with the half-title page, engraved frontispiece (by Longueil after Eisen) and several engraved vignettes, woodcut decorations. Cohen-de Ricci 320.

Generally considered the most desirable edition of this work; according to the prefatory leaf, "Cette Edition est infiniment plus soignee que les premieres." A collection of verses philosophical and fantastical, dialogues, billets, poetic epistles to such contemporaries as Voltaire, Hume and Rousseau, etc., etc., preceded by the author's prose "Discours sur la Poesie en general, & particulierement sur les Pieces Fugitives." Binding with modest wear to the extremities; leaves with intermittent light browning, occasional spots and stains, else clean and sound, firmly bound.
