Two volumes, 8vo (22 cm), in early/period half calf and marbled boards; 392, 498 pp.; with nine engraved plates, two of which are folding.

Wear and cracking to the joints and spines, loss to the spine of vol. I; internally very good: light scattered spotting to the plates, some toning to the title-pages and the top edge of the text blocks, else the contents are uncommonly clean and bright. Autobiography of this reform-minded Irish landowner and educationist, edited and concluded by his daughter and sometime collaborator, the novelist Maria Edgeworth.
