Quarto. Text block 9 in. x 6 in./Boards 9 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. 594 pp. Three-Quarter morocco, over marbled boards. Marbled boards scuffed. Wear to leather, but solidly bound -- UPSIDE DOWN. Marbled endpapers. A very few manuscript inked notes.

The rough section: About 11 leaves -- up through page 6 - show a chip of paper (1.5 in. to 2 in.) broken off from the very

bottom corner of these pages. This section extends through the table of contents and just into the beginning of the book proper.

Much of this past savagery is confined to the margins, with just a few letters of one or two words missing, and a digit from one or two page numbers in the table of contents. These pages also show closed tears as if someone was just practicing learning how to use a matte knife. The ONLY other mentionable blemish within the book is a pull out chart toward the rear which shows a ragged edge.

The rest of the book, while obviously heavily used, with shelf-wear and a few stains and scuffs, is very tight. While reprinted

during the Twentieth-century, original copies could be located only at 3 libraries world-wide The University of Southern California; The Theosophical Society in America; and Louisiana State University at Shreveport. Madame Blavatsky has been called "the Godmother of the New Age movement" and her writings widely labeled "pseudo-science". Good Only. Leather-bound. (#85754) $1,300
