Richard Bentley, 1830. First Edition. Two 4-3/4" x 7-1/2" duodecimo 
volumes bound for Estes & Lauriat in 1/2 green morocco leather and 
marbled boards with matching morocco corners, gilt-lettered spines with 
5 raised bands, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Illustrated with a 
frontispiece portrait with tissue guard in the first volume of Bernard 
who is described as "Manager of the American Theatres, and formerly 
secretary to the Beef-Steak Club." A scarce set. We could locate no 
other complete set for sale, and the last auction record dates to 1980. 
Internally clean and fresh. Minor rubbing to the joints. Near Fine.
