VERNE, Jules. THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND. Baltimore: Limited Editions Club, 
1959. Quarto (7-1/8" x 10-1/4") bound in decorated linen buckram. The 
original translation by William Henry Giles Kingston with an 
introduction by Ray Bradbury and illustrated with 32 plates by Edward 
Wilson with pochoir hand-coloring. Of a total edition of 1500 copies 
SIGNED by the artist on the colophon page, this is one of only 15 
Presentation Copies with the publisher's blindstamp attesting to such on 
the colophon page where instead of a number the initials "G.C." are 
handwritten. Acquired directly from the publisher's files, this copy 
belonged to Gordon Carroll who was in charge of the club's operations in 
the 1970s when it operated out of Avon, CT. Slight rubbing to spine.
