Illustrated with 32 steel engravings including 2 hand-colored. First 
appearance in print of Poe's THE THOUSAND-AND-SECOND TALE OF 
SCHEHERAZADE, a short story intended as a partly humorous sequel to the 
celebrated collection of Middle Eastern tales ONE THOUSAND AND ONE 
NIGHTS depicting the eighth and final voyage of Sinbad the Sailor, along 
with the various mysteries he encounters. Also with contributions by 
Sarah Josepha Hale, T. S. Arthur, and others. Moderate foxing and 
staining throughout; spine edges rubbed but binding still attractive.
