quarto (10" x 12-1/4") bound by The Chelsea bindery in full black 
crushed morocco leather with covers ruled in gilt, spine with five 
raised bands, bordered and lettered in gilt compartments, gilt board 
edges, decorative gilt turn-ins, plum end papers (with original end 
papers preserved), top edge gilt. The front cover with a superb 
multi-color morocco design replicating Hansel and Gretel at the cottage 
made of candy and cakes. Copy #317 of 600 SIGNED by illustrator Kay 
Nielsen with 12 mounted color plates with descriptive tissue guards and 
10 black-and-white plates. Title and initial letters printed in red and
