Jan Luiken [aka, Jan or Johannes Luyken]: De Bykorf des Gemoeds, honing zaamelende uit allerly Bloemen. Vervattende over de honderd konstige Figuuren. Amsteldam [Amsterdam]: Kornelis vander Sys, 1735. Small 8vo (15.5 cm) bound in full polished calf, rebacked with the original spine laid down, gilt-lettered morocco spine label, marbled endpapers; [10], 404, [2] pp.; extra engraved title-page, engraved vignettes.

A handsome early printing of De By[e]korf des Gemoeds (The Beehive of the Mind), first published in 1711, by the Dutch engraver and poet Jan Luyken (1649-1712), with over 100 copper engravings illustrating "divine proverbs and edifying verses." Binding with some rubbing, wear to one corner, scuff mark to the front cover, spine ends professionally restored; contents lightly toned, but Very Good or better: clean, sound and firmly bound. Front paste-down with the armorial bookplate of Max & Eve Behr.
