Physicist John Cockcroft 1957 Italian Lecture on Nuclear Power

Lecture to Instituto di Studi Parlamentari, Rome “The United States  
Nuclear Power Programs”. Wednesday, April 3, 1957, by Sir John  
Cockcroft.

This set includes both the English and Italian language versions of  
the lecture.

”Sir John Douglas Cockcroft, OM, KCB, CBE, FRS (27 May 1897 – 18  
September 1967) was a British physicist who shared with Ernest Walton  
the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1951 for splitting the atomic nucleus,  
and was instrumental in the development of nuclear power” [Wikipedia].  
 From the collection of Larry & Grace Spruch, both noted physicists,  
who toured England and Europe in 1956/57.

Two sets of mimeographed typescripts, 8 pages and 6 pages. Folds,  
minor soil, light wear.  $75, plus $3 shipping.
